GODLY PRINCIPLES

As Christians, we hold the responsibility of upholding the Christian heritage, and the most effective way to do this is by raising our children on godly principles; teaching them these principles, and guiding them to live by them.

The mantra for Full Life Academy is RAISING CHRISTIAN STUDENTS. By implication, we groom our children to imbibe godly principles. These principles are represented in, but not limited to our core values- CHRIST FIRE G.

CHRIST FIRE G stands for;

Confidence:
If there is any area most children and teens lose confidence in, it is in their elements and abilities. In such cases, a scripture like Psalm 139:13–14 (For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well) comes in handy.

We help our children develop confidence not only in who they are but much more in who they can become.

Honesty:
The Christian is God’s representative to the world, and it is pretty difficult to represent God when we are not honest. Honesty gives us the beauty of character that speaks qualitatively of who we represent. 1 John 1:6 speaks of this clearly, ‘If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth’.

We teach our students to uphold the virtue of honesty as they do not only represent God but their parents (as well as the school).

Responsibility:
The Christianity that makes God ABSOLUTELY responsible for our lives is irresponsible. Even Paul in the bible asked, ‘shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?’ His response? A resounding GOD FORBID (Rom. 6:2). Even the Holy Spirit, who God sent to help us does not operate in a vacuum; there should be work in progress.

At Full Life Academy, our children understand that a purposeful life is a responsible life. If they must succeed, then they must take responsibility for their success.

Integrity:
Even Jesus instructed his disciples in the bible, ‘The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them’ (Matt.23:2&3).

We help out children develop personal and leadership character by teaching them to uphold the quality of integrity.

Service:
On the journey to greatness, the pathway of service cannot be bypassed. There is no great person that has ever lived or you know of who never served. We see this in Jesus’ example of washing his disciples’ feet (John.13:1-17). He also emphasized this in his response to the disciples’ dispute of who should be the greatest (Mk.9:33-35).

Our students understand the value of service. They understand that service has nothing to do with putting yourself down to please another. They appreciate service as a platform through which they emit value to their world.

Teamwork:
Teamwork avails you the opportunity to leverage the potential of a person or group to achieve better results. Our number 1 example of teamwork in the bible is Jesus and his 12-man team. Think about this; if Jesus had operated alone on earth, would we have known Christianity?

Our students learn teamwork through collaborative studying and other mentoring programs carried out in school.

Faith in God:
Nothing noteworthy is achievable without faith, and the greatest form of faith is faith in God. As Christians, we can not do much outside or without God (John.15:4), and the first step to getting anything from God- from salvation to your deepest need- is BELIEVE… (Heb.11:6)

We teach our children to exercise faith in God by getting them to pray (sometimes with fasting) with expectation, knowing that God can do and even exceed our expectations (Eph.3:20).

Impact:
Man was made for impact. We are designed to leave a mark wherever we find ourselves. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that, ‘we are his workmanship, CREATED in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD HATH BEFORE ORDAINED THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM’. The Living Bible translation puts it this way; ‘it is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus, and LONG AGES AGO HE PLANNED THAT WE SHOULD SPEND THESE LIVES IN HELPING OTHERS’.

Impactful living is more about the little things you do daily than it is about the one BIG “show” you do once in a while. We encourage our students to engage in impactful living through the little things they do daily- like, helping a classmate understand a difficult subject better.

Resourcefulness:
This goes hands-in-gloves with service. Resourcefulness places demands on your problem-solving ability. In Proverbs chapter 6, we are admonished to glean wisdom from the ant whose activity is marked by promptness, diligence and proactivity which are key features of resourcefulness. When God put Adam in the garden, he gave him a responsibility- “to dress and keep it” (Gen.2:15). In verse 19 of Genesis 2, God brought the animals to Adam to “see what he would call them”, and Adam didn’t disappoint.

Full Life Academy is only a passing phase for our children. Thus, we hold the responsibility of equipping them to face the world and conquer. We achieve this by taking them through a personal development and capacity-building program aimed at getting them to develop relevant skills needed for the global marketplace.

Excellence:
“Do you see a man skilful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men”. Those are words fr scripture (Prov.22:29). Spirituality or Christianity is not a licence to shabby delivery.

At Full Life Academy, our students aim for the best and work towards being the best. We make it our responsibility to ensure that none of them lags.

Growth:
Certain factors indicate the existence of life in an organism. One such factor is growth. When a child of 2 years is still crawling, it becomes a thing of concern to the parents because there’s an obvious anomaly. In the same way, God is grieved when we are stagnated in any area of our lives.

In 1 Timothy 4:15, Paul tells Timothy, “Practise these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your PROGRESS” (English Standard Version). The living bible puts it this way; ‘Put these abilities to work; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone may notice your IMPROVEMENT and PROGRESS”. God places a demand for growth on us. God is dynamic in his ways and it takes consistent growth to key into what God is doing per time. The absence of growth in any area of life is an indication of death in that area.

Our series of mentoring programs are tailored to instill a growth mindset in our students.
